ESCONDIDO — San Diego’s freshwater anglers have their looks on Escondido’s Dixon Lake, where 4,500 pounds of rainbow trout were furnished as of Nov. 14. The trout were stocked from Calaveras Trout Farm.
Dixon Lake will be hosting its 40 th annual Dixon Lake Trout Derby, Nov. 30 to Dec. 2. It’s the first trout weed of the season for Dixon Lake.
Also receiving rainbow trout flowers in November are Lake Jennnings( 2,500 pounds, Nov. 12, season opener ), Santee Lakes( 1,000 pounds, Nov. 16) and Lake Cuyamaca( 1,200 pounds, Nov. 20 ). Lake Jennings( 1,500 pounds, Nov. 26) and Santee Lakes( 1,000 pounds, Nov. 30) are furnished twice.
Anglers do not require a state angling permission to drop a line at Dixon Lake. A daily let from the lagoon, nonetheless, must be purchased.
Dixon Lake is open daily, except in cases of Christmas Day.
