There’s nothing like find a cod of 1,000 dolphins diving and throwing through the ocean off the Dana Point Headlands to feel uplifted.
At least, that’s what Dave and Gisele Anderson, who operate Capt. Dave’s Dolphin and Whale Watching Safari out of Dana Point Harbor, guess. So with their business at a stand-still because of the coronavirus shutdown, the couple has come up with a practice to still bring whale and dolphin watching to Orange County and beyond.
On Wednesday, April 8, at 1 p.m ., the Anderson’s will debut their new, weekly Sensorium Cetacean Safari. The video feed will include live and recent safaruss with whatever ocean wildlife they find, a discussion about what they’re interpret, a special guest and some tips-off on the importance of connecting with nature.
” Our objective is to connect with people who are isolated and to connect with the animals and each other ,” Dave Anderson said.
This week’s feed will include footage from a trip on Saturday, April 4, during which the couple encountered more than 1,000 common dolphins really off the Dana Point Headlands. The radical was acceded to by some bottlenose dolphins.
The couple was out on their new basin “AllsWell,” which was recently inspected by the U.S. Coast Guard. The Zodiak-style vessel can jaunt at 37 mph.

For the past week, she’s been standing at a street corner near her home in San Juan Capistrano, harbouring a large sign: In this Together, #Stay Strong, God Bless You.
