Age Well Senior Services’ Founder Emeritus, Marilyn Ditty, was recently honored for her 40 years of service at the 18th annual Signature Event fundraiser, formerly called the Captain’s Ball.
“We were pleased to honor and acknowledge Dr. Ditty’s many contributions to this outstanding organization that has become a lifeline to seniors in south Orange County,” said Age Well’s CEO Steven G. Moyer in a release.
Themed “Dancing Through the Decades,” the event, held April 14 at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel, raised $165,000 to help support the Meals on Wheels program and other services provided by Age Well throughout south Orange County.
With a Ph.D. in gerontology, Ditty has been the catalyst and advocate for senior services for more than 40 years. In 2011 she was named an Outstanding Founder on National Philanthropy Day Orange County.
Sponsoring the event this year were platinum-level sponsor Monarch HealthCare and gold-level sponsors First Bank, Langlois Fancy Frozen Foods and O.L. Halsell Foundation.
Each year the Meals on Wheels program provides more than half a million meals to homebound seniors in south Orange County.
