A man died when he was hit by a train in San Diego County on Wednesday, May 23. The incident disrupted train service in Orange County.
The man, of an unknown age, apparently committed suicide, San Diego County sheriff’s Lt. Ricardo Lopez said. The man was hit several blocks north of the Oceanside Transit Center by a Coaster train, which serves eight stations operating north and south in San Diego County.

A southbound Amtrak train was expected to be delayed about one hour.
Metrolink’s OC Line train 606 was stopped at San Clemente, where passengers could board a bus. Train 608 stopped at San Juan Capistrano.
