SACRAMENTO–California’s Fish and Game Commission has a new executive director: Melissa Miller-Henson. She supplants Valerie Termini, who was identified by Gov. Gavin Newsom as the premier deputy managing director of the California Department Fish and Wildlife.
Miller-Henson spent the past seven years with the equal opportunities commission, serving as its program manager, deputy director-general and playing executive director. She previously led the California Fish and Wildlife Strategic Vision Project and finagled the Marine Life Protection Act Initiative. Miller-Henson too invested 11 years wreaking as a policy adviser at the California Natural Riches Agency.
The new executive director, outside of her abilities offices with the Fish and Game Commission, also devoted duration as a whitewater rafting guide.
Miller-Henson began serving in her capacity as executive director on Sept. 10. Termini was appointed to her new role in June; Miller-Henson had sufficed as the commission’s acting executive director since Termini’s departure from the capacity. She deserved a Bachelor degree in Environmental Policy Analysis( Environmental Toxicology) from UC Davis.
Termini superseded Sonke Mastrup as the commission’s executive director in 2016.
